84 – The End

Before there was the James Schramko (previously called the SuperFastBusiness) podcast, there was Freedom Ocean.
The main host was Tim Reid, owner of several offline small businesses and host of Australia’s number one marketing podcast, Small Business Big Marketing (SBBM). In the other hammock, as he liked to say, was James Schramko, full-time internet marketer and part-timer for three years prior.
Tim would tag himself as the guy with all the questions. In 2010 he interviewed James on Small Business Big Marketing, and subsequently sold a ton of James’s information products. An hour’s work yielded thousands of dollars in revenue. This told him James was onto something, something he and listeners would do well to find out more about. That was the birth of Freedom Ocean.
James, naturally, was the guy with all the answers, making serious money on the internet, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. He would address Tim’s well-placed questions with what he knew from years as an entrepreneur online.
The duo’s partnership made its podcasting debut on February 11, 2011. Their very first episode posed the challenging question, Why resign from earning $300,000 per annum? It was a question James had answered for himself five years before, when he left his high-paying managerial post at Mercedes-Benz to become an internet marketer. It was also listeners’ introduction to Freedom Ocean and the possibilities of online business.
The podcast spanned a period of about six years with 84 episodes. Tim and James covered such topics as: 3 Steps To Double Your Profit And Halve Your Work Hours, How To Fix Your Underperforming Business Without Changing Your Quality Of Life, Is Retail Business Doomed? and Creating an Evergreen Product that Sells While You Sleep.
They wrapped on April 6, 2017 with a bittersweet reminiscence on Freedom Ocean’s six years and its lessons, and parting predictions for where internet marketing is headed.
