James Schramko here and in this episode we’re talking about Facebook marketing and if it’s worthwhile. In particular, I’m talking about fan pages. I’m not talking about paid advertising, which is something else that I do.
I’ve pulled some insights from my page and it’s only a humble fan page. There’s actually less than 3000 fans at the moment but the reach is quite strong. I tend to post a few times a day and often from portable devices. Most of my audience find me. I rarely go and post on other pages for specific marketing reasons. I don’t drive paid traffic to my Facebook fan page, and none of the likes are fake. They are all real.
On the image that I posted on InternetMarketingSpeed, it actually shows that from 2795 likes, I have 1.3 million friends of fans. There’s 262 people talking about this fan page, and my weekly total reach is actually 10,898. Now, all of those figures are up because I’ve been posting a little more regularly to my fan page. So this leads to the natural question, what topics are good to post?
Good topics to post
I’ve actually put a screenshot of my best posts in terms of engaged users and talking about this and virality. Some of my posts have reached 1,933 people. I’ve engaged over 600 people and in some cases, over 300 people talking about a post that’s almost 6 percent viral which is really good. The best topics that I’ve found are inspirational work-life pictures and mantras, pictures that point out herd mentality that people can relate to, funny email extracts, news that is related to the audience, impressive stats like screenshots that others aspire to, life shots that show the real you, and tips and techniques that are really useful. And also the wild card is new products under development.
My hot tip is use lots of original pictures and screenshots since they’re emotion-filled. It’s no wonder that Pinterest is so popular right now.
Use lots of original Pictures and screenshots since they are emotion filled!! (Is it any wonder pinterest is so popular?)
