James: James Schramko here, chatting with Gert Mellak from SEOLeverage.com. Hey, Gert.
Gert: Hi, James.
James: Gert, I’ve heard people say, Ah yes, I’m fine with my SEO. We’ve got a WordPress plugin and it’s all ticked, all the boxes are ticked. Is that good enough for SEO?
Gert: Trick question – it’s definitely not. I think this is very similar to if you go to gym and say, “Look, I eat a carrot every day, why am I not fit and healthy and slim and have muscles, etc.?” Ticking all the boxes on your WordPress plugin is definitely good. But it is much more what SEO actually takes.
So SEO, we talk very often about 200 different things. And as an SEO agency, we know about 30 of them that are really important. We want to focus on them. Ticking the boxes on your WordPress plugin can be a first step. Very often it’s not going to lead to any results. So if this is what you’re doing right now, and you’re not getting results, you definitely want to head over to SEOLeverage.com. Let’s have a quick chat. And we just take a look at your site and see what we can do there.
James: Of the 30 things, what would you say the top three things are?
Gert: Top three, and this is an excellent question, is definitely content, content structure and internal linking. And all these things are not being taken care of by SEO plugins.
James: Love it. Thank you, Gert.
Gert: Welcome.
