James Schramko here and I don’t normally make videos for you but this one is for you if you’re an employee, or if you like this video and you’re not an employee but you think someone should watch it send them to it please.
Dear employee, turn up for your meetings on time. Deliver on the promises you made at the interview and communicate clearly with the business owner or the person employing you so that there’s no miscommunication. If you could do these fundamentals that would be great because I’ve seen quite a lot of carnage happen in businesses where employees don’t show up, where they miss out on calls, where they make excuses, they have a lot of sick days.
All this stuff I hear about it all the time. Thankfully, that’s not something that happens in my business at all, ever. And it hasn’t happened for a long, long time, probably not since I was in employment myself. But the thing is it’s really going to kill your chances of getting further up the line. In fact, it doesn’t even help you keep your job.
If you want to get promoted, if you want more responsibility then show up and deliver and be the best. It’s not that hard to be that much better than everyone else by just showing up and delivering on your promises. So there you go. If you’re an employee just step up. Act like you’re the owner and they will soon take notice.
