James Schramko, and here’s a place where I make sales, that you may not be expecting. We recently bought some software that helps us see where our sales are made. It’s conversion software, and interestingly enough, I wasn’t surprised by the number one source, which was a particular email that we send out to our waiting list.
But the second most important source of sales for my business actually came from our support desk. So here’s my point today. Put a lot of emphasis on your support desk. Your support desk, when handled well – and ours is actually seven days a week – can convert questions and prospects into buyers, because they’re ideally going to be trained well, they understand what solutions you provide, and how they best fit people who are curious about them.
So go and develop your support desk. Use a professional program like Help Scout, which is what we use in our business, and you’ll find that you’ll be making sales if you put in the training and you have that support desk. And it’s going to increase your business and also the level of satisfaction and loyalty that you create with your business. When you have great support, you’re going to have happy customers who get results.
