James Schramko here. I want to talk about one of the hardest things to do in business.
And that is to receive feedback.
It’s hard to receive feedback without taking it personally. And the thing is, when you get feedback, you need to realize that often the person giving feedback is really only putting it from their perspective. Sometimes you’ll get feedback from a customer who may not be a perfect fit, but they will seek to make it your issue.
So sometimes people sort of externalize their frustration and you might become the target. So I do encourage you, as a business owner: seek feedback, especially if you have a subscription program. Ask people why they left. And when you get the feedback, ask them more clarification if you need it.
But use that feedback to make a better program and dismiss the feedback from people who aren’t a good fit, and you’ll feel OK and you’ll get great results.
