Part 5: Ensuring that we promote the published content as far as convenient.
We need to syndicate everything we’ve done.
This is the overall checklist to help you understand the start to finish process and what each thing means. So where possible we will publish to other people’s forums and posts. People may accept a guest post.
I have a gentleman who takes my business videos each week and puts it on his post and he also links to my site. I have 500 links from his site to my site. I have my watermark featuring in front of his audience every week so I’ve syndicated my show to his post. Also I’m putting my videos in other people’s forums.
You email your channel list and also I recommend you have a weekly list. So I email my list with “Here’s your SEO video this week.” In the bottom of the email, you’ll notice it says, “If you prefer to get a weekly digest, click here.” If they click that link, it takes them off the daily broadcast and puts them onto a weekly broadcast. So they’ll only get a weekly email from me.
Even if they’re on all my list, they should just get one weekly email. They’ll get a little digest of 3 – 5 posts that we put out that week. There’s about three hundred and something people on that list on the first month so there are 300 people who may have unsubscribed completely or who probably are feeling it’s just a bit too often every few days and they’re busy. It’s good to offer them that choice.
You Facebook like your post.
Just push the like button. Then you post the post to your Facebook fan page and then you can participate in Facebook Group. Once you put good content up, it’s a good time to go and participate in other groups because they find you again. They come back and check out your page and guess what the last post is. It’s yours.
Start Facebook sponsored story.
This is where you get to set all the parameters of your target. Exactly who you want this to show to, your budget, and you can actually set it up to be on-going which is kind of dangerous. Very few people will get away with this because sometimes Facebook just picks up a random thing. But we cover this in Traffic Grab.
Start a Facebook promoted post.
That’s the little bottom underneath the post you can click to spend $5 or $20 to show more people. That will just go around randomly in front of all the people that they want.
You can start a targeted Facebook ad.
If you really think this one’s a winner, you can setup a specific ad just for this particular post.
Remember to respond to comments on the blog posts and forums and Facebook because this social sharing viral interactive thing is where a lot of power is. This is what makes you relevant. This is what earns trust. It builds your authority and it gets more traffic to your site. Whenever you interact and when people comment, that’s more people it’s going in front of.
Tweet your post sometime later.
It’s automatically being Tweeted with your Facebook, but you can also manually tweet it later on.
Pin your image.
So go to Pinterest and add that particular image which should be watermarked.
The RSS feed auto-publishes to your other blogs. The RSS feed auto-publishes to Scribd.
Google+ the post.
This is important now because it’s a good strong social signal. It does show up in your Webmaster Tools and your Analytics. And it’s worth friending a few people on Google, or plusing a few people in Google. It’ll also mean that your little picture will show up in the search results beside the content. So make sure that you do Google+ the post.
Make sure your remarketing code is on the blog because now you can start your banner campaign.
Mike Rhodes has put training inside Traffic Grab for this and you can have a continuous campaign with banner ads. Every time you do a new post it’s literally tagging fresh customers based on the assumption that about half the people coming to your news blog will be new. Then you can continually add to your retargeting list and continually get fresh customer sales from your banners.
Curate your posts to your other blogs.
What we do is we actually setup a SuperFastBusiness Traffic Services campaign for the last 3 curated posts each month or the best 3. We pick 3 new phrases and we setup a Pro Pack. A continuous Pro Pack and we just change the target every month to 3 new posts and we’re always adding new indexed pages to our SEO traffic campaign.
We bookmark every post with OnlyWire.
Of course our iTunes and YouTube videos and audios will show in the related feeds of other shows and other related videos on other sites. That’s the power of syndicating to those very public sites. I personally reply to all emails, all my Facebook comments, all my blog comments and I’m the one making all the forum posts.
That is pretty much my job. My job is I am a problem solving machine. Which is why I can make a good income just serving people in forums, groups, blogs. I don’t do the helpdesk, that’s beyond my capacity. We have 500 tickets open at any one time. That’s because we’ve got a large service business. So I do have very highly trained customer service people in my helpdesk. But I’m keeping an eye on it and I train them all the time. We speak every single day. But it’s me posting as me on my Facebook.
