Part 4: We’re now going to getting that content into the path of customers using a multiple channel approach as per ‘the octopus method’ from Traffic Grab.
You can refer to the Traffic Grab modules for the exact step by step and behind the scene strategies for this but I’m going to give you the checklist because that’s what we’re here for.
Here’s the publishing checklist.
The team will upload the video to YouTube.
They’ll be sure to set descriptions, tags, and link back to my website to the post where they’re going to put the YouTube video which they’ve drafted.
They’re going to upload the MP3 to Amazon S3 ready for podcasting.
They’ll add the S3 link from Amazon S3 to the blog post into the Blubrry plugin which we’ve already submitted to iTunes once. Once it’s done once, we never have to do it again.
They’ll then embed the video on the blog using LeadPlayer.
I highly recommend this. It doubles the amount of opt-ins that I’m getting to my website. I’ve done feature posts on this. You can easily find my review of it and there are bonuses available if you buy through me but this is a great feature. What it does, it makes your YouTube video a nice clean looking player and it allows you to put your opt-in in the video.
You add the headline, the bullets with time codes, the full transcription and the image to the post where you’ve put the video.
This is now a fully rich post.
It has video, it has headline, it has bullets, it’s got full transcription, it has an image and it has an audio.
Then they publish posts to other blogs that we own.
They will take the same video and put it into other blogs and they will rewrite the description and the bullet points a number of times and put it to a number of other websites that we own and publish them.
Then I will embed the video into forums.
I will load it up to SuperFastBusiness. I will load the business news to SilverCircle. Most phpBB forums and most Bulletin forums will allow an embed. If you’re lucky, other people will embed them. In fact yesterday I saw one of my customers had embedded one of my videos into the Warrior Forum, which is great. Once you make sharable high value content, people might actually share it. So next time you think of a spinning tool or a splog submitter, think about this. Is it really that good a content that it could be shared naturally because once you reach that threshold that’s when things tip.
Publish your PDF to curated blogs.
What we do, instead of pasting the word for word transcription, we put it into a PDF document and in the PDF document we put sponsored by banners. We actually put ‘this business news is sponsored by Silver Circle‘. We put that in the PDF and we put that on our websites where we’re putting the video instead of the word for word transcription because we want to make sure that the post is quite original.
The RSS feed from the post will automatically publish to other blogs out of the sidebar widget for the RSS feed to my other blogs. So when we publish it automatically goes to the other blogs and updates them. It’s a nice fresh spotted content and they’re no-follow links so you shouldn’t get a Penguin penalty.
The RSS feed also auto publishes to Scribd which happens on the way through Zinepal which was on our checklist to setup. Submit your blog to Zinepal, a paid account, and hook that up to Scribd and now you’ll automatically have a weekly journal. [Edit – this is fine to seed your early stages site however I recently removed this from SuperFastBusiness syndication when it became powerful to keep the content unique].
We also publish the press release to PR web making sure we embed the YouTube video in it.
Then the team emails me the links to YouTube and the posts and I can go and check them.
Each person in the team has an operating procedure so they will have a cut down version of this checklist. They will just have the steps that they do and they’ll have it in simple step by step as per what you’ll see in Traffic Grab or Content Assault. More step by step.
In terms of timing, the team members do one blog post per day. That’s roughly the workflow. I will load up a new video most nights and that will be the target for the next day. [Edit we now do two posts per day]

Hi James, thank you for these tips!
I was interested in Scribd… being new to this blogging game, I wrote a huge article for my niche site that I hope Google will pick up and look on as an ‘authoritative’ and quality post… I believe the 3000-word post to be valuable enough to sit as a standalone ebook, and wanted to design it up and publish it to Scribd.
I am, however, worried about duplicate content post-penguin. I have yet to receive any backlinks or anything because it’s a new website, and I planned for this mega-post to be the authoritative ‘hook’ for Google.
Should I be worried about publishing it, word-for-word, to Scribd as well? Would you advise just keeping it for my website or is there no duplication penalty to worry about? Will Google place more importance on the same content if it appears on Scribd?
So confused!
Cheers,
Adrian
PS I absolutely love your content… you have a reader for life!
Adrian, It is a great question and here is my view point.
There is no ‘penalty’ as long as they are on different sites. Often you can have both ranking on the same page.
Recently I have stopped this step as I really want my blog to be the ONLY source of the content on the web and to ensure it is always the highest ranked version of the content.
Thanks for the respones James, appreciate the clarification :)
