Today, Lucy and I are going to share with you a management tip. This is Lucy.
So if you have a team, sometimes the question is, how closely should you inspect the work? Like, setting the standards, where the bar is on the quality, etc. And I say to owners, it’s really good to get in there and have a good close inspection. But it’s also good to sit back out a little bit and let your team get to work and get out of their face.
So, I like this loose-type leadership idea where you get in there, get all up and close, pay close attention to the quality, work really closely with people and then go a bit loose. Let them free-reign a bit, go on a holiday, have some time away and then come back in and get tight again. So this loose-tight management is very natural. It’s just like the tides, you know, we have high tide, low tide, we have night, we have day, we have seasons. So it makes sense in business. Don’t just be a metronome with this sort of standard level of interference as a leader. Give your people some space. But then get close to them when they need help or when the standards are slipping, etc.
So hope you enjoyed this. Lucy’s been very well behaved for this video. And if you like this, wherever you see the video, subscribe. I’ll give you some more tips soon.
