James Schramko here. Today, I want to share with you a really inspirational experience I’ve had today. I’ve been doing my coaching calls from very early this morning, then I had a break. And then I’ve done some tonight. But I’ve had some really great discussions with clients.
Look, a couple of them are going really well, which is a usual scenario that I encounter. The most successful one that I spoke to today was doing several million dollars per month. And another one’s up to $500,000 per month. And several of them are just doing the usual thing, making their revenue through their source. There’s a few people who I coach who are going particularly well when the market is looking bad or down. And that’s great.
But there are two clients I spoke to today that are in markets that are severely affected by the goings-on at the moment. One is in an industry that relies on in-person events, so that completely stopped dead. And the other one is in a market where their product is sold through stores which are closed. So, speaking to both of them, what they’re doing is really the inspirational part.
The one who needs in-person events has redeployed his core team to create a brand new solution for his exact same customer, to do what they normally did face-to-face but to do it over the internet, which is great. He’s also redeploying the team to change the way they sell what they were selling. So he’s basically now got a captive audience of his existing customers who also need to make changes. So he’s providing a solution for that. It’s very clever, and I think he’s gonna be successful with it. And when things go back to normal, then he’ll actually have both businesses. The new one of course on a brand new domain, brand new software, completely brand new.
The other one who relies upon in-store has now ramped up a brand new product that caters for the market, and is going online and selling a lot more online with basically taking advantage of the website and the media buying and the email list, etc. that they already have from some of the programs they’ve been doing. And the other thing they’re doing is they’re now trying to get their product inside stores that are still open. So the traditional outlet is closed, but there still are stores open that can and do supply similar products from competitors. So he’s gone and got someone who’s an expert in that marketing channel.
So the big lesson there is new marketing channel and also taking advantage of a similar channel to what he had, but getting in there by buying access via an expert. And that’s what you do when you pay someone who knows what they’re doing, or has the right contacts. You can actually fast-track your results. Now, he will pay that person X amount per year, but they will bring in millions of dollars of revenue, so it’s a great deal for him.
So I just wanted to share these couple of stories. Not so much to say, Hey, there are people crushing it right now, because that is obvious. There are people who go well in these times, and I put my business in that bucket. But then there’s people who are creating brand new things and taking advantage of the situation, even though they could have been very depressed and down. They could have been crushed, you know, upset, depressed, or whatever. But no, they’re redeploying their existing resources and making something good from it.
And I put myself in that bucket too, because I’m actually creating brand new products for brand new markets right now. This is a great time to be productive. It’s a great time to be creative. Once you get outside the mist and the adapting to the change of it, see all the opportunity there. I’m helping my family members take advantage of this market as well. And when I say advantage, I mean using their skills and seeing what problems they can solve. That’s what I mean by that.
So just to be clear, if you can help people, get out there and help them. Keep the economy going, keep the money being spent, collect the money, spend the money, keep things moving, that’s what we can do. We can keep selling, we can keep consuming, and you know, we’re making the best of what we can. I hope this is helpful in some way.
