James Schramko here. Today, I want to share with you a technique that I use to get excited about the future.
One thing that I do is I put a really nice occasion in the future to look forward to. For me, every year, it’s my Maldives trip. When I go to the Maldives in September, I have the best time. I’m surfing, I’m there with friends, we talk about business, the food’s incredible; fully catered, and it’s luxurious. I look forward to it all year long and when I get to the trip, straight after the trip, I re-book so that I can look forward to it for next year.
And this technique excites me. Every time I surf, I’m thinking about which board will I take to the Maldives. I get invigorated by it. I can bound out of bed in the morning. I can attend the calls and do the work that I need to do because I’ve got something to look forward to in the future.
So, my tip today is put something to look forward to in your future, book that holiday or celebrate something special so that you’ve got something exciting to look forward to because there will be days when you have to do the work and it’s not as exciting, but having that thing in the future to look forward to will propel you through the difficult times.
I’m James Schramko. This is SuperFastBusiness.
