James Schramko here. This one is for speakers and presenters. If that’s you, I would like to present to you a tip.
You don’t have to rely on fancy slides as your crutch when you’re presenting. People are not showing up just to watch your slides. They could have done that on slideshare.net. So remember to bring you back into the picture. I know I have a very plain background for most of these videos, but I am here front and center, being present for you and I want to share this message.
If you present or you have a slide deck and you’re doing this from stage, a great technique is to put in some black slides so that you can turn off the stimulation from the presentation, and bring the attention back to you, the speaker who they are there to see and to learn from and to be transformed by. So next time you do a slide presentation, put a couple of black slides in there when you really want to highlight something that you have to say and bring the focus back to you, and see how your audience responds to that.
