James Schramko here, and I’m recording this video on three cameras. The camera that I’m looking at right now is the Canon G7X, which is a pocket camera that has a really good zoom lens. It does auto filming. I’m just using the sound from the camera, and it does a pretty good job. It’s very, very inexpensive, and you can hold it easily in your hand and carry it around quite well. So just want to see how this quality compares to the other cameras.
The camera I’m looking at now is the iPhone. It’s a modern iPhone. It’s the most portable, it fits in your pocket. Of course it does other things like social media and make telephone calls. It’s easily the most mobile, it’s with you at all times. And it’s what I’ve been using to make a lot of videos up until now. It also has auto-stabilization and good speakers these days and good microphones.
And now the camera I’m looking at is my newest camera, which is a Sony A6400 with a sigma lens. And it’s got an autofocus lens. It does have the ability to have audio input, which is good. And I’m using that as a webcam these days hooked up to my Blackmagic. But I took it out and about with me. The lens on it is the biggest of the three cameras. It’s the most expensive, it’s around $2,000 AUD in this combination. So that’s about, let’s call it 1400 USD. The Canon G7X is probably around $700 AUD so that’s about 500 USD. And of course the iPhone is around $1,000 AUD, call that $700 USD.
So there you go. I wonder which camera is producing the best results. Any of them are good to use when you’re out and about on the go. I think the Sony should be the best quality, it gives you that blurred background straight out of the box, but it also is the bulkiest and the most expensive. But it’s the one that I plan to use more for videos.
I’m James Schramko. If you’ve enjoyed this be sure to subscribe wherever you see this video, because I’ve got plenty more videos coming down the pipeline, now that I’ve got so many cameras, of course.
