James Schramko here. Today, I want to share a conversion tip that’s helped me a lot with sales pages and shopping carts, and it certainly worked for my clients.
I first found out about this tip from a really large e-commerce organization who are making hundreds of millions of dollars worth of sales. And it’s simply this: if you want to give a special allowance off the price of something, then it’s better to use dollars than percentages.
So instead of saying ‘Save 25%’, it’s better if you say ‘Save $50’ or ‘Save $150’ because if you use percentages, I imagine it’s harder for some people to actually know instantly how much that equals. And when it all boils down to it, we want to know how much do we have to pay, how much are we getting off in dollar terms.
So if you go and look at your sales page or shopping cart and it currently says ‘Save 30%’ or ‘Save 15%’, try putting dollars and let me know if your conversions increase, because I predict they will.
I’m James Schramko and this is SuperFastBusiness.com.
