We’ve all heard it, you’ve got to build an email list. Great! But what do you give away to get an email address? That’s the question I get asked all the time. So here’s my answer.
My answer is, what is the simplest thing? And I wouldn’t say that people are after a cheatsheet just now. It’s actually how I started online, 2006, is with my XSP cheatsheet. It was my first $100,000 product. People are always interested in the shortcut, the abridged version, the digest. It’s, what can you take away?
How can you flip the industry norm on its ear and show something different? What is everyone agreeing on that you disagree with strongly that you can tilt them on and get your edge? And for me, my book, Work Less Make More, is a similar theme. It’s like, you know, stop doing all this stuff, stop being overloaded and overwhelmed and thinking you have to do everything, and just have a good business model. Get yourself a few team members, and start bringing in the income without being a slave to your business.
I think Dean has done a good job. It’s Dean Jackson, for anyone who’s not as close to Dean, as __ and I. He’s done a good job with the profit activators. They’re a pretty complex tool that works for any business that go beyond just the surface level. So I think you know, what’s ___, profit activators? What’s your nine box grid look like? And maybe there’s a basic version and then an advanced version that you could really sell a lot of the basic version and then the upsell is already cooked in for the done-with-you or the ready-to-take-it-to-the-next-level version. And for me with my coaching programs, that’s pretty much what I’ve set up with the different tiers that I have now. It’s like, what level are you at and how deep do you want to go?
