30 – Productized Services

The podcast Sales Marketing Profit, says James Schramko in its first episode, was formulated over a burrito after a surf. The premise: to back up practical business strategies with real-life case studies – no theory, just real results.
James then was known as the founder of SuperFastBusiness and strategic advisor to many top internet business owners. His co-host, Taki Moore, was regarded by many as the world’s number one business and executive coach/lead generation expert. Taki’s one-man mission: to eradicate cold calling, chasing and high-pressure selling in the coaching industry, via education-based marketing.
The show launched on May 5, 2014 with the episode, From Audience To Paying Customer In 3 Powerful Steps. In one of his trademark templates, Taki outlined a nine-part sales session framework he used to achieve sales for one of his clients.
The podcast reached number one globally on the iTunes charts when it was launched.
Over the course of 30 episodes, he and James would take turns sharing case studies of their students, breaking down each case into the problem, the solution, the result, and the framework used to turn things around.
SMP’s episodes went by such intriguing titles as Half Pregnant, The Time Shrinker, The Douchebag Effect, and 100K Abs. The final airing, Productized Services, ran on August 11, 2016.
While not as long-lived as some of James’s other podcasts, Sales Marketing Profit was quite well-received during the time of its run. James and Taki together were a good pairing, engaging and knowledgeable. And presenting their strategies in the form of case studies and templates made for highly actionable material that their listeners could easily understand and apply to their own businesses.
It wasn’t for lack of material that the show was discontinued, but for the simple fact that James and Taki’s other pursuits gave them no opportunity to get together and record. The output they did accomplish, however, remains accessible here.
