James Schramko here, and something really interesting about when you travel is what happens to your business. What I found is when you travel, that’s when you learn about your business. You find out what breaks, you find out what works well, who steps up, who’s doing the job, who knows what’s happening. And of course, it’s a good opportunity to grow.
After you get back, review things and see what you learned, good or bad, about your business. I was just on a trip with 10 other entrepreneurs, and two of them didn’t connect to the internet for a week, and they really have their business running well without them. And they were able to make an assessment when they joined back on.
I think one or two of them found some things that could be tuned for next time. But this is how you help build a business that works a little bit without you. It also shows you who you have in your team and how well your systems are operating. So I encourage you as a business owner to do the thing that probably every fiber of your inner body is screaming not to, and have some time away from your business.
That’s when you’ll truly learn what kind of business you actually have, and you’ll be provided an opportunity to grow your business stronger.
