So I’m here at Chun’s Reef in Hawaii and I’m just in from surfing. Now, the first time I ever went for surf as an adult was at this beach just last year. The difference between now and then is phenomenal.

Surfing in Hawaii: The difference a year makes
Back then I remember being very tired even just paddling out. I remember cutting my feet on the reef and I remember falling off the board frontways, backways, sideways. It was very, very difficult. Today, I was able to paddle around and actually stand up and catch a wave on my own board.

So one year down the track, what’s the difference?

Growth thru a great circle of influence
Well I’ve got a key circle of influences who have helped me. I have a surfing professional friend, I have a friend with a surfboards online shop, I have a friend who has a compare surfboard shop, and I have a friend who surfs with me everyday who is also like me, has a flexible work schedule.

Now bringing together this circle of influence has really projected my surfing forward into a whole new dimension now that I surf everyday.
