James Schramko here. Today, I want toshare with you what my workspace looks like because a couple of people have asked what sort of equipment do I use so we’re going to flip over and are you ready?
Here we go. Just the quick tour is I’ve got some sound protection here to make sure that the sound has been captured. I’ve got a shield there for when I’m podcasting. I’ve got a backup recorder, I’ve got an Apple home pod which I can use. It helps me especially when I’m cooking to set alerts. I’ve got a light that I usually use when I’m videoing, I’ve got this LG 5k monitor which also has a camera built-in.
And I’ve got a podcasting mic and a Mac air. So that’s about it. There’s a wireless keyboard and mouse. And, of course, Sony headphones which are really great for noise cancelling. In fact, I use those sometimes on this beanbag here which I can just lie down, put the headphones on, and read a Kindle on my iPad.
So that’s a little look of what we’re using here, the set up. Most of the videos I’m making have just a plain backdrop which is very easy to light. I’m not even using any microphone or light right now, other than what’s in the ceiling and you can see that it’s very effective.
So you don’t need a lot of equipment to do an online job but make sure it’s really good stuff that makes you feel productive. That’s my main tip.
