James Schramko here and welcome back to SuperFastBusiness. Today, I will share with you the top 10 most downloaded SuperFastBusiness podcast episodes of 2017.
It’s 2018 at time of recording this. We’re right at the beginning of the year and looking forward to a productive and enjoyable 12 months of business and good living, I might add.
By the way, if you haven’t already got it, make sure you get a copy of Work Less Make More, my brand new book that’s on Amazon. Your local Amazon will have it in paperback or Kindle. There’s an Audible version coming soon.
So, hindsight helps us identify the 80:20 or what I like to say, the 64:4 of what we did that worked. I find it very interesting to go back over the last year and see, of all the podcasts that I published, which was around about 50, which ones were the most popular by downloads. So, let’s look back at the topics that piqued your interest and kept you absorbed whilst driving, flying, walking the dog, working out at the gym, or doing whatever you do as those earbuds deliver the latest SuperFastBusiness content.
Here are the most downloaded podcast episodes from SuperFastBusiness in 2017, including the episode number so that you can look them up easily, if you haven’t already caught up with them.
So the 10th most popular: Episode 524 – How ChatBots, Voice Powered Search and Artificial Intelligence will Disrupt Your Market. What if technology could give every business owner the chance to have a business adviser? That was the proposition on which Dale Beaumont founded his project, BRiN.ai. In a conversation verging at times on sci-fi, Dale describes the latest advancements in chatbot and voice-powered technology, and what they could mean for business owners in the very near future.
And I found this episode interesting, and it’s just now that I’m wading into the ManyChat feature suite for Facebook.
The ninth most popular episode was 531, How To Meet People At Events. One of the greatest advantages of attending live events is the chance to widen the network of people who will energize both your business and your personal life. How do you make those connections? Episode 531 provides a checklist of tips (also available as a download) for making the most of your encounters with speakers and fellow attendees.
Episode number 521 was the eighth most popular, How To Build A Deeper Connection With Your Audience. As a talented copywriter and comedian, CopyChief’s Kevin Rogers knows all about connecting with an audience. In Episode 521, he shared his best practices for achieving and building the immediate relationships that get you the reception and response you want for your message.
At number seven was podcast 535, How To Completely Reset Your Business And Your Life. Business and life-changing insights are not likely to occur when you’re right smack in the thick of keeping things running. My prescription: get away from it all. In this episode, you get an invite to an adventure that has significantly impacted the lives of the business owners who dared to take it.
And interestingly, most of the people who came on that trip have actually rebooked and sold out the whole of 2018. So, that was a really profound episode with high impact.
The sixth most popular download was Episode 526, How to Scale Your Business Whilst Living Remotely. How do you manage and grow a thriving jewelry business while living and working remotely? Wanderer Bracelets’ Ben Katzaman shares the story of his product and business model that took off when many would not have expected it to succeed.
Ben also delivered a presentation at SuperFastBusiness Live and it was a very, very popular, well-received presentation.
The fifth most popular episode was number 534, How To Succeed In Content Marketing Without Spending All Day Writing – Part 2. What is your blog’s purpose? How do you stand out from the myriad of other blogs out there? And does content creation really have to be difficult? Content marketing strategist Kyle Gray and I tackle these topics and more in the second half of our series on successful content marketing, which rolls nicely into the fourth most popular episode, which was 533, the episode preceding that one, How To Succeed In Content Marketing Without Spending All Day Writing – Part 1.
If you find content creation a challenge, this episode 533 is for you. We welcome repeat guest Kyle Gray to the show to talk about the process of content creation, what makes good content, and why making content needn’t be a gruelling task that takes up the bulk of your working day.
The third most popular was Episode 532, How to Buy an Online Business. We’ve talked on SuperFastBusiness about selling your online business. Now it’s time to discuss the other side of the transaction. What if you are looking to buy a business? AppBusinessBrokers’ Eric Owens joined us on that show to discuss the why, what and how of making a business purchase.
The second most popular downloaded podcast of 2017 was number 528, Be the Guide, Not The Hero – How To Explain Your Story Better. You’ll see a lot of facts and pitches being thrown around in online marketing. It’s the storytellers, however, who rule. Explainify’s CEO Eric Hinson was our guest on this podcast, sharing his five-point formula (also a downloadable PDF resource) for telling stories that resonate and sell.
The number one most-downloaded podcast episode in 2017 (this is where we would insert a drum roll) was Episode 529, Whatever Happens, Use It – Mindset Training With Nam Baldwin. Mindset powers performance, which is why Nam Baldwin, an emotional and stress-control management specialist, put a lot of effort into teaching athletes how to think their way through physical challenges. Coach to such well-known names as multiple world champion of surfing Mick Fanning, Nam has a lot to say on the topic of mind over matter and freely shares his expertise in our most-downloaded episode of 2017.
This was actually my favorite episode, because it’s helped me deal with pressure when surfing in really big waves. And the business metaphor also works well. So, no matter what you’re doing, you’re going to find at times that you get scared, and this framework that Nam shared was so good.
Now I’ve got a few bonus episodes.
Also amongst our most-downloaded episodes were presentations from SuperFastBusiness Live by speakers who are world-class experts in their field. We felt the value in their talks just had to be shared with you, as a great indicator of what you could expect inside the SuperFastBusiness membership, because these presentations were at the exclusive live event that’s a paid event, and we’ve captured those recordings and put them inside SuperFastBusiness. In fact, I’ve got the last 10 or 12 events inside the membership, so there’s very, very good content. And many listeners who downloaded the audio certainly agreed in terms of download numbers.
So here are the bonus ones:
Episode 519, Counterintuitive Strategies For Productivity. As an entrepreneur, you can always use another productivity tactic, and Dan Dobos proposes 21 of them that you likely haven’t thought of. His is just one of the complete SuperFastBusiness Live presentations on video inside the membership. Set aside some time to watch him on stage and get an idea of the value accessible to members.
Episode 539, Facebook Advertising Essentials With Ilana Wechsler. Whether Facebook advertising is as yet a complete mystery to you or a tool you’re working to master, Ilana Wechsler’s talk at SuperFastBusiness Live has value for you. One of the most popular presentations of the entire event, it laid out clearly what you need to advertise effectively on the biggest social media platform online.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this look back at last year’s top podcast episodes. And it’s certainly my goal in 2018 to provide you with more quality content to instruct and inspire you in your business journey.
What was your favorite episode of 2017 and how did it impact your business and your life? I’d love to hear from you in the comments section right where this post is.
