James Schramko here. Today, I want to share with you how to get around this situation where you don’t feel like making content sometimes. Maybe you’re an author or an expert and you feel compelled to be making videos like the one I’m making today or publishing things and you just don’t feel up to it.
Well, I look to our farmers for an example. They know that you can’t plant the seeds and harvest at the same time. So, I suggest you work in cycles. I don’t make these videos at exactly the same time every day. I make them when I feel like I’ve got something to say. It’s usually after I have a great coaching call and I just want to share the ideas that we’ve been sharing in our paid membership at SuperFastBusiness or SilverCircle.
So, if you don’t feel like doing it, don’t do it. And if you don’t feel like being on camera then choose a different modality. Do some audio like I do with podcasts. I don’t have to shave when I do a podcast and it doesn’t really matter whether I look a bit scruffy or whatever. I don’t have to check things. When I’m making videos, I’ve got to feel like I want to make the videos. I might do five, six, seven, 10, 15 videos in a row and then I might do another one for a week.
So, pick the modality that suits you. You can always go to text and images if you want and only do them when you feel like it. But when you feel like it, do a lot like just crank it out there. Be seasonal like a farmer. I hope this has helped you with your content creation efforts. I’m James Schramko and I look forward to sharing more tips with you in the next video.
