James: James Schramko here from jamesschramko.com. Today, I’ve got my guest, John Lint, from 10XPRO.io. We’re going to share a tip that can really boost your conversions.
You know what it’s like, you’re getting traffic to your site and people are interested in what you have, they maybe go through to your sales page and they read on and then they’re ready to order, what can you do, at that point in the process, to dramatically (and I mean, dramatically) increase the conversions that you get which is effectively the same as doubling the traffic to your site? If you could lift your conversions from 1% to 2%, that is the same as getting twice as much traffic.
I’ve been doing something for a while and I know John and I were just talking about this and he does it, too. Share it with us, John.
John: Yeah. Basically, we all want to get more sales. We want to increase our conversions. And something that a lot of people think about is, Well, I should get more traffic. But really, you should probably look at what you already have and not try to get more traffic. But just tweak things.
And something that our members have been doing here at 10XPRO.io is, because with 10XPRO, you can create any kind of page that you want, you can easily add stuff to the page. Something that we have been doing is to add (and I know you have been doing this for a while, James, and me, too.), it’s basically to add a video, a small video on your order page, right there.
And ideally, you want a video of you on camera like we are doing now. Nothing fancy, nothing like great.
James: You can do it with an iPhone, right? That’s what I made mine with, actually.
John: Exactly. On camera, like, Hey, I just wanted to say hi, blah, blah, blah. And you basically want to reassure them, right? Because we know that when people go to the order page, you have a lot of people who are going to leave.
Maybe they’re a bit scared, maybe they don’t know what’s going to happen next. They are not sure what to do on that page. So, you want to be on camera, reassuring them that they are doing the right thing, that’s super exciting, that they are soon going to get access to everything, that the only thing they need to do is to enter their details, that the page, of course, is secure. Everything is safe. They just need to click on the button and you tell them what’s going to happen next.
When you do that, you’re going to reach this page. It looks like this. Then you’re going to receive your login details, and then you’ll be able to login to the member’s area, right there. It’s awesome. I’ll see you on the next page. You know, show them that you’re excited about all that. And especially tell them that Hey, it’s safe. It’s secure. You’re doing the right thing.
Maybe talk about other people. But, you know, keep it short, very short videos. Add that to the order page and you’ll see dramatic results in your sales.
James: Fantastic! So, videos work really well. Like, we’re making them now to put on social media. They work really well on your sales pages. They work really well on your checkout page and this one is not common so, that’s why we’re mentioning it.
Even a small video, making sure you build up the trust, restate the offer, tell them what happens next. And then, of course, after people order, it’s really good to put video onboarding. And I actually send a personal video for new members, as well. And this reduces that feeling of buyer’s remorse. It will reduce any sort of refund request, or any concern that someone might have made a wrong decision because you’re hand-holding them the whole way, being very courteous and explaining exactly what’s going to happen as if you were there.
