James Schramko here. I want to share some tips with you if you’re interested in having a membership, like I have with SuperFastBusiness and SilverCircle.
First off, wherever you’re watching this video, be sure to subscribe so that you see my videos. I post videos like this every day. And my goal is to provide you some fantastic tips.
A lot of people ask me about memberships. And I say there are three things that you should have in your membership if you want a membership like mine, if you want one you can sustain for a long time. And for context, SuperFastBusiness which started life as SuperFastResults, and then went through a little name change to FastWebFormula and is now SuperFastBusiness has been around for 10 years. SilverCircle has been around for nine years. So here are the three things they have.
One is, of course, content. So it’s great if you have some content but you don’t need a lot of content. You could literally start with one course. In fact, when I started my first membership, there was no content. But I added content as members arrived and we created things.
Now, I run a training each month. So with the monthly trainings, and with the Ask Me Anything that I do for my private-level coaching members, and with our live events that I record and capture and put inside the membership, there’s plenty of content. In fact, the bigger problem becomes managing all of that content. Over time, you’ll have a lot. I mean, we have 10s of gigabytes of content. And that can be a challenge in itself to manage.
So the first thing is content, and you don’t need that much content. And I’ve done it before, twice where you start with no content.
The second thing is coaching. I’m a coach, I mentor people. So in both of my programs in SilverCircle and SuperFastBusiness, I’m giving coaching tips and help and support. In both programs, people can get answers pretty much the same day or the next day. In both programs, there’s an option for private coaching. Certainly, in SuperFastBusinesses, a group coaching element as well. People could post where other people can see it, but I’ll still contribute my answers. So, coaching is very important.
The third element, and this one’s a little bit trickier and harder to manage. And a lot of people try to do this with Facebook, but it’s not always that successful. And that is community.
Community is where your members get each other. And there’s a lot to be said for hanging around like-minded enthusiastic people. Maybe you’re a member of a couple of groups where you do have great connections with the other members. That’s certainly true of SuperFastBusiness members and SilverCircle members. It means something to be in those groups.
Now, we run our platform privately. We don’t have it on Facebook, so you don’t have to have it on Facebook. If you had content and a little bit of coaching and you wanted to provide community, of course, you might be able to set up a group.
These days, I recommend people use 10XPRO.io. It’s a great place to put the content, to provide coaching, and you can have the community element as well. So, you can have all the things you want but you can have it controlled privately in your own environment.
So, quick recap. The three things that would really help you have a very powerful membership is content, coaching, and community.
If you’ve got more questions around this, just ask where you see this video. Of course, if you’re a member of SuperFastBusiness, then ask me in there privately or in the group, I’ve got a lot of resources on how to run a membership, the important mistakes that people make that you should avoid, how to retain members once you have them, how to sell your membership on autopilot, and even how to catch people who used to be a member and bring them back with a new message that helps them want to be back on board.
I’m James Schramko. This is SuperFastBusiness. Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s training.
