James Schramko here. And today somebody sent me their business idea and they wanted my opinion. And it took me a little while to figure out exactly what it is they’re trying to do.
It’s fairly complex. They needed this person to do that. And they were going to pay this if this happened. And then they wanted to put this in place, and so on and so forth. And my advice back to my customer was actually in the form of a question, and it said – How can you simplify this?
A good idea or a good concept should be able to be explained on the back of a beer coaster. If it can’t, there’s a reasonably good chance that the other party is not going to understand what you’re trying to do. And of course, a confused mind makes no choice whatsoever. So my advice today is, if you’re making an offer or putting together a deal, make sure that it is so simple, it would fit on the back of a beer coaster.
