What do you do when your clients don't go through the step-by-step training as they should?
When asked this during SFB's monthly "Ask Me Anything" call, James offered a couple of suggestions to help you get results for your customers.
On a recent Q&A a call, a client of mine asked me what to do to help their members get results when they’re not following their step-by-step training as well as they would have liked. So I offered a few suggestions on other ways to help customers get results.
So I think the things you could play with are, the marketing you’re using to attract the people to the membership, the framing of what the membership actually is, the way they’re onboarded. For sure, you could definitely use tools to send them sequential step-by-step lessons. So you can enroll them automatically into a step-by-step program, even if they have access to everything.
You know, I wanted to do this by the way, I wanted to have tracks and then enroll people like, Hey, click here to receive this track in sequential lessons. And it’ll just automatically email or push notify them that each of the new lessons. You could run timed to challenges. You could have the month of August is for this particular thing and take them through that particular thing that month. Kind of like we do a monthly training on a particular topic and we bring the focal point to that particular topic. You can actually deliver people the drip unless they specifically request to have everything else unlocked if they’re the exceptional person who wants just one part of it and not to go through it step-by-step.
So I really think a lot of it comes down to if what you teach is sequential or if it’s not sequential. That will be the first thing because not everything is step-by-step. Have a step-by-step induction, and when they graduate, it unlocks everything else for them. It’s like when I went to get my license for riding a motorcycle, I had to go and do it a knowledge test, then they give me my learner’s, then I had to go to a course at a riding school, they did in classroom theory, and then they did out in the field practical. Then we had to do a driving sort of assessment with the instructor and then they give me my license. Now that I’ve got the license, I can ride anywhere. So it’s step-by-step until it’s total freedom.
