Now, this could apply to whether you’re looking for a new supplier, or whether you’re looking for an opportunity. It might be to get an interview, or on someone’s podcast, or to do business with them. The best technique of all is to use a referral.
That is to look up your contact base and put it out there that you are looking for a particular type of person or supplier. Or if you happen to know who you are looking for, then find out where that person has appeared on a friend of yours’ podcast or show and reach out to your friend and ask to be connected. If you can be introduced, that is so much more powerful than having to reach out cold.
So that’s why I don’t have cold outreach in my business. Everything is word-of-mouth referral. That gets you the best results.
