Well, I’ve been building business in the online trenches now for about 15 years. Before that, I was running Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
I was a General Manager leading teams of up to 100 people.
And generating around $100 million a year.
I’ve worked for big companies such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Vodafone and General Motors.
I’ve coached over 3,500 people since then, on a lot of the principles that I learned in big business.
Enterprise has great training, we get exposed to the best accountants, the best sales people, all sorts of crazy politics and bureaucracy of course, which is why I like having a small business.
And the principles follow through.
Now my partners and clients are generating over $72 million per year right now.
I’m a partner in seven businesses, and I’ve built and sold multiple recurring subscription businesses. I think that qualifies me to teach this.
It’s generated me control and freedom in my life in a way that I could never dream of as an employee.

There are three proven models that I’ve used to grow businesses with this recurring income. Once set up, they pretty much run themselves.
You build up the flywheel, and they don’t need a lot of effort.
One is the Service Retainer. The service subscription is a very simple model.
I started doing $5,500 per month retainers in 2008, and I built that into a huge SEO business that was generating over $100,000 per month. We had 65 people in that team, and this model is perfect for service agencies, consultants, and experts.
And then there’s the membership subscription.
I’ve been running memberships since 2009 and then I stacked another one on top in 2010, and they’re both running now. And this model’s fantastic for coaches, educators, influencers, and even e-commerce brands.
Now there’s also performance deals. I went out and researched this, I learnt about this from a few experts like Jay Abraham, and I have generated millions of dollars in revenue since.
And it is the strongest thing that powers my business today.
I’ve got a bunch of partners. Since 2016 I’ve been doing this model, and it is what contributes the bulk of my income.
So imagine having a business where you’ve got clients paying you month in, month out, and you don’t have to go out chasing your business so hard. Or if things slow down, you have a long warning time to know that you need to make changes.

So what makes the way that I teach it a little bit different?
A couple of things. For one, I don’t really have a story about being a bankrupt or an addict, sleeping on a park bench, or going to jail. And I’m not big on bling or flex, and tattoos and all that stuff. I’m just a straight up, rock solid business builder. I’m a family guy, I like to surf. So I’ve been building up these businesses, surfing, following my core principles.
Here are 6 core principles to have a better life and business:
Own the race course.There are certainly elements you can’t control that you should surrender to. But what you can control, you should. You should control key elements of your business.
Rather than leave things to chance, we improve our chances.
No compromise.Instead of doing things purely for the money or the quick win, we play a longer game with integrity.
Multiple pillars.Spread your risk out. Avoid stressing about your one income stream’s stopping. Develop various streams of traffic, income and products.
Continual R&D.Research and development is the key. All the best companies do this. Stay ahead by always testing, improving, refining. Without getting distracted by the latest shiny objects.
Let other people do that and then bring you the stuff when it’s ready. I find out about these things through my clients as well.
Good for humans.Only work on projects that improve people’s lives. Have integrity.
