Gabe: it is clear you don't do a lot of videos. Wireless mics regularly fail at the worst possible times and how am I supposed to mic a room when I have to move around? This is why I have Rocky and most of the videos on building43 will be professionally miced. – Robert Scoble
Shooting video with an on-camera mic is like shooting photos with an on-camera flash. It's great in a pinch, but it's the worst possible way to do it. However, just as you can do great lighting without lots of equipment and assistants, you can do decent sound without an engineer and expensive equipment. – Gabe
