Coolest guy on the planet is having a family showdown!

Manny leger is sitting just below me and Jon just above. Is there enough room for all of us? Brad and I are just plain greedy taking up two spots each on page one for coolest guy on the planet.

Google has been dancing this week with me down to 10 & 11 (how rude) for a day or so. It felt very uncool to be left out of the action. Thank goodness I hung on for the ride.

Now I am much cooler at number 7th coolest guy on the planet and also number 8.

Manny Leger has one of the most entertaing blogs (a blogrox blog, and well worth the read), especially the personal "hero" shot in his profile.

He is commenting on cool movies, three way links, one way links and link partnering. The style of the blog is more likely to keep readers compelled than either mine, Jon's (technical alert), Brads (nothing to do with the topic anymore - jut too many backlinks) Russels (a photo and link job) ,Petes (hmmm. we already talked about that one) and Gareth (what is it with bridges anyway?).

So being entertaining is cool.

I have a few changes I am trying.

First - My new blogs and google pages have a link back here.
Seond - I am using niche brainstorming tool to identify low competition searcgh phrases relating to cool, guy and planet. I will incorporate those phrases ever so softly into coming posts.

Of course one of the essential elements of SEO is to have good content and not to try and "over optimize" your site. If you make good content for humans - that is the coolest way to have a high ranking blog .

Keep up the really good stories Manny, I think you really are of the coolest guys on earth, and perhaps even the entire solar system.

Coolest Guy On The Planet is getting back to normal after a few weeks of strange events and new threats.

I have managed to stay 6th and 7th on Google for a few days now after the dust has settled. Quite often when new people arrive to the top they sit for a week or two then start dropping away unless they back the effort up with more firepower. Russell managed to stay there and Jon is doing a fight back.

Peter the video viral king has slipped back a bit, and is dragging onto page 2 with his cool viral Blog attempt.

Jon Leger is back on page one in tenth next to the Weird new entrant. I still don't know what that new attempt is but it should die off.

I am only behind Brad Fallon, Russell Brunson, Mike Filsaime and Garrett Boon. Pretty good company to keep. I should see Mike again in a few weeks in Sydney for Internet Mastery, Hi Mike!

Really I am quite pleased to stay Page One Google.

In Yahoo my Coolest Guy On the Planet fortunes have turned, I have obtained position 4th with my new Coolest Guy On The Planet blog and 10th with this cool blog you are reading now.

On MSN I am still appearing number 1 and number 2 - very strong indeed!

So currently I am on page one of Google, Yahoo and MSN with TWO entries for Coolest Guy On The Planet on EACH.

I like that little extension under my second listing for "more pages from James Schramko.com.." that is a nice indication that more content is waiting in the wings.

So how am I remaining strong for the term Coolest Guy On The Planet?

Well, a quick recap....

I adjust my page titles and page content for different search Engines. MSN likes more keywords, Google likes more related keywords.

Yahoo LOVES blogs compared to the others, so my new James Schramko.com site is a Semiologic Blog and it seems to be working really well.

I have released only three articles for SEO recently (on page SEO , SEO content, and off page SEO).

Also I released an article about the free coolest guy on the planet competition you can enter.

These articles have generated a few back links to this cool blog and pushed my site up a little.

Naturally the theme of those articles helps suppoer the topic of SEO which is also true of my BlogCatalog SEO Coolest Guy On The Planet site that is gathering new "friends" each week.

These links from other pages to me helps me get more known to the search engines for this term. Even linking out to my other sites will help because I am proving I am not a link hoarder and I am connected in a web of theme related sites.

I have thrown a link back to this blog from some of my other blogs as well just for a casual "leg up". This is only useful if they are hosted on another server to this blog because it gets a little watered down otherwise.

One of the most important things I do is try and relate the content on this blog to the theme. That is why I occasionally drop in words like cool, cooler, cold etc.... and instead of planet, I might say earth, world, universe etc.... or even planetary or solar system.

Other words for Guy are bloke, fella, man, guys, people, men etc... I could even talk about fireworks if I wanted to pick up on the popular celebration for the Guy Fawkes Gunpowder plot and bonfires etc.....

So, relevant tags, titles content, some links in with the same or similar words, some links out with similar content etc......

I even have www.coolestguyplanet.com pointing to my www.jamesschramko.com/coolest-guy-planet/ page so that I can start getting some more deep links into themed content sitting just behind the top layer.

I started this thing about a year ago and when I did, I knew nothing about SEO. So if you want to step up and give it a shot go for it!

You don't need the most back links, you don't need a spam page of cloaking or automated content scraping etc...... You just need a nice balanced mix of on-page and off-page content and a little bit of experimentation and hard work to maintain a Page One Google ranking.

Once you do that you will have the proof you need and the confidence to produce your own top Search Engine Optimization related Info Products like the XSP Cheat Sheet (my product) and have 5 Figure Sales launches.

WOW! - My Coolest guy on the planet blog is back in the Google Index!

What happened? - I am not sure. I did a comparison of the content of this blog versus my index page and it was only 12% similar.

I did change the tags a little so they have different descriptions - perhaps caused the conflict?

Anyway - lets get this blog cranked up a little to stay in the Google top ten.
