The greatest artists use the least tools.
I have been on a de-clutter and reduction mode in my life recently. Everything from clothing to business resources. One of the most effective changes was to eliminate all surplus tools we use. The process was simple. I had a huge list created of every tool, resource, subscription and supply source we use and then we scored it by:
- Is it the best at what it does compared to all other options? (we test, measure and research this)
- Do we know how to use it to the highest capability?
- Can we live without it?
Once we finished this process we ended up with less tools in our business which meant that it was cheaper to maintain them, easier to train on them and faster to get better results from them. Once you have only the essential tools you are ready to get to work with pure focus.
What tools can you delete from your tool chest in order to use less tools more effectively?
