I am also working on two more experiments at the moment.
Experiment 1)
I am using a tool called wordtracker (I got this the other day and it is too good to comment on in full here, however if you are serious about the internet you NEED this tool!) . Also note I have been avoiding linking to any other sites because I think that de-powers this website, I have done it here because it is just too good a tool.
Wordtracker allows you to not only check words that are searched for in Google, Yahoo, MSN, Overture and others, it also allows you to check how many competing websites are catering for the words. This should really help my coolest guy on the planet pages get ranked well, and by keeping my name (James Schramko) in the mix, that should also flow along.
Let me explain:
Take a word like Google. The software will tell you what similar words you might consider using, like google, pagerank, website, SEO, Google earth, Google Maps etc.
You then search and discover that roughly 3948 searches for "Google" were conducted in the last 24Hours. And there are 2,470,000,000 web pages with that term in them!!! so I would be wasting my time trying to corner the Google Market!
Instead I might attempt to create useful content for the term "cheap airflights travel website" which had 837 searches conducted for it in 24 Hours, and there are only 357 webpages competing for it. Similar terms were things like "Proxy websites" , Take me to Google", "crack Google Earth Pro", "Bob Marley websites" and "Teenager websites".
(Now you get an idea how powerful this software is. You would be mad to invest a cent on Pay Per Click or build any webpages until you get it. I just rebuilt several of my websites using this information.)
I will concentrate where possible on providing content to satisfy the desires of these consumers, which leads me to experiment 2, for Coolest Guy on The Planet, by James Schramko.
Experiment 2)
I am starting a couple of mini Blogs, designed around designated topics. I want the content to be really relevant to this Coolest guy on the planet Blog, So I have started one blog each relating to "Cool", "planet" , and "guy", then I will make sure I let visitors refer back here.
We will see what happens to coolest guy on the planet by James Schramko.
