I forgot to mention anther thing I learnt.

Using very highly searched keywords will help your pages.

When i say highly searched words, I am talking about "weight loss", "Diet", Depression, anxiety, gambling, etc.... (See previous posts)

You may be wondering why I bothered with this Blog about being the coolest guy on the planet?

The answer is very simple. I wanted to learn. Learn what?

What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization.

This is simply an exercise, or project to better understand how it all works.

The main elements are "onpage" optimization, and "offpage" optimization.

I have tried many different things so far, and I will mention them all as I go.

What I have learnt so far:

1) MSN is faster than Yahoo or Google to index the coolest guy on the planet blog by James Schramko

2) Yahoo is second fastest to index coolest guy on the planet by James Schramko

3) Regular posts seem to make the coolest guy on the planet more noticable for the spiders.

4) Regular use of the terms "coolest guy on the planet" and James Schramko in both print and "alt Text" versions seem to assist the context of the blog in the search results.

5) By setting the number of posts per page lower, I have more archived files on my James Schramko Web site.

6) Some Search Engines index my main site pages (like my James Schramko Privacy Policy page) faster than a blog.

7) The Blogger hosted pages appeared fastest of the Blog pages, (they were first before I hosted this at Jamesschramko.com so it remains to be seen how effective this move was)

8) The backlinks from other websites are starting to appear in the search results, however only from the high page rank ones at this stage.

p.s - I am thrilled with the results so far, number one in MSN in two weeks is pretty good. Yippee
