It's a numbers game - (post 100)
Since April (six months) chipping away at this coolest guy on the planet experiment, I have learnt plenty/ Coming 3rd in Google is great. Coming 2nd will be better!
I started this project with zero SEO knowledge. In fact I only started using a computer at home about two years ago, and have full time employment offline. Just from watching video's from Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins , reading ezines and blogs, and TRIAL and ERROR and testing I have picked up some useful knowledge. (The videos are at http://www.convertlinks.com/ - I owe them a free plug - both are coolest guy on the planet players).
They have been playing cool screenshots of this blog ranked 3rd for coolest guy ont he planet!
If I want to improve my rankings I will need lots more backlinks with the correct anchor text such as "coolest guy on the planet" and the link could go to this blog http://www.jamesschramko.com/coolest-guy-on-the-planet.com If you want to help why not throw a link to me from a page on your blog/ website? (send me an email so I can thank you).
Also - I really should be publishing an article. I have been trying to learn as much about SEO before I do that because I didn't want to publish a story filled with crap.
In an interesting research discovery (thanks to the 2nd coolest guy on the planet Andy Jenkins) I have checked my rankings in google for the following terms:

2nd coolest guy on the planet - 7th, 8th
3rd coolest guy on the planet - 3rd , 4th

5th coolest guy on the planet - 2nd , 3rd

7th coolest guy on the planet - 3rd

Look out Andy, I am after your 2nd coolest guy on the planet crown!
